Fault Finding

We find the fault others give up on

Tripping RCDs, flickering lights, dead sockets and intermittent faults are frustrating and can be dangerous. Our engineers use systematic testing and proper diagnostic equipment to trace the root cause — not just guess — and then put it right and prove it’s safe.

After any repair we issue a Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate confirming the circuit is safe.

FAQs

Fault Finding — your questions answered

How long does fault finding take?

Most faults are located within the first hour using proper diagnostic testing. Intermittent faults can take longer, but we always explain what we’ve found and quote any repair before carrying it out.

Why does my RCD keep tripping?

Repeated RCD tripping usually points to a faulty appliance, moisture in a circuit, a damaged cable or an overloaded board. We isolate circuits methodically to find the exact cause rather than guessing, then put it right and prove the circuit is safe.

Faultless EV charger install
Booked Brightwell to fit a 7kW charger and they sorted the whole grant claim for me. Tidy, on time and explained everything. The app setup was done before they left. Couldn’t fault them.

LED downlights throughout
Had the whole ground floor fitted with downlights and some extra sockets. The finish is immaculate — you’d never know walls had been chased. Polite, careful and great value.
