House Rewires
Safe, future-proof wiring done once, done right
A full rewire replaces the entire wiring system in your home — from the consumer unit to every socket, switch and light fitting. Older properties with rubber, lead or fabric-insulated cabling, frequent tripping or scorched sockets are prime candidates. We work clean, protect your home and finish every job with full electrical certification.

House Rewires — your questions answered
Do I need a rewire?
You may need a rewire if your home still has old rubber, lead or fabric-insulated cabling, a fuse box with rewireable fuses, frequent tripping, scorched or warm sockets, or no earthing to certain circuits. Most installations last 25–30 years. The surest way to know is an EICR — we’ll tell you honestly whether a full rewire, a partial rewire or simply some remedial work is needed.
How long does a rewire take?
A typical 3-bedroom house takes around 5–8 working days depending on access and finishes. Partial rewires are usually 1–3 days. We give you a clear schedule before we start and keep disruption to a minimum.
Can I stay in my home during a rewire?
In most cases, yes. We work room by room, isolate only the circuits we’re working on and restore power each evening wherever possible. We protect floors and furniture and clean up daily so the home stays liveable.
What our customers say
Booked Brightwell to fit a 7kW charger and they sorted the whole grant claim for me. Tidy, on time and explained everything. The app setup was done before they left. Couldn’t fault them.
Full rewire on a lived-in house. They protected the carpets, cleaned up every day and the making-good was spot on. Certificate came through two days later. Genuinely premium service.
Had the whole ground floor fitted with downlights and some extra sockets. The finish is immaculate — you’d never know walls had been chased. Polite, careful and great value.
